Loading the gun of any length and yet with maximum effect!!! Before loading the gun, press and hold the trigger, then insert the spear into the barrel for about 2/3rds of its length. The spear will go in with little resistance. Release the trigger and complete the loading for the remaining 1/3rd of the shaft length. Pull the spear out for 1/3rd of the shaft length, and then again pull it back in with the loader. This process repeated three times is equivalent to the one-step loading. Such unique incremental loading is possible due to the Aquatech's hydraulic locking chamber functioning as a non-return valve. The spear tail features the relief valve action allowing the spear to be pulled forward.
Our guns work silently. Pneumatic spearguns produce noise because of the impact of the piston hitting the plug bushing in the end of the barrel. This noise is not present in hydropneumatic guns as they have no piston, and hence they can be fired even without inserted spear - there is no fast moving piston to damage the gun. Instead of the piston, the hydropneumatic gun uses an incompressible column of water to propel the spear from the gun.
Reduction of the gun power, the shooting power can be varied by pulling the shaft forward after the gun is fully loaded. This reduces the distance of the spear acceleration in the gun's barrel. The power reduction can vary from 100% (spear fully inserted) to 0% (spear pulled nearly out). The spear will not fall out if the "O" ring on the shaft tail is in good condition.
The gun can be loaded up to any degree of full power. For loading the gun to the half of its power, load the shaft for only half of its length.
The design of the gun excludes the possibility of an incidental shot (fire accidentally), which is typical for more traditional designs of trigger mechanism. The hydropneumatic gun, in the worst case, will start leaking water from the hydraulic locking chamber thus allowing only the spear to move gradually out of the barrel. Maintenance simplicity is facilitated by the small number of parts of the gun and unique trigger mechanism design. The photo shows the main parts of the trigger mechanism - spring, trigger valve and small tube which runs to the handle containing the trigger control valve. In guns there is a wear out only of sealing "O" rings, which easily can be replacement. In guns the interior barrel is made of stainless steel and consequently his wear very small. The line release lever on the Aquatech keeps the line close to the barrel, which is better for drag reduction. Also each line wrap is longer than that on a comparable traditional pneumatic speargun, so you get more line with Aquatech speargun than with traditional guns of the same barrel length. |
The guns work without lossing air. The air is pumped into the gun's concentric barrel reservoir by an air pump coming with each gun. By increasing or reducing the air pressure in the gun you can adjust the loading effort to a level convenient for you. This procedure needs to be made only once and after that the gun will work reliably for several seasons.
The gun is protected from corrosion. The interior barrel of the gun is made of stainless steel. All aluminum parts and concentric barrel reservoir are hard anodized for increased protection.
